Job Description

Job Summary

Manage and ensure the compliant delivery of all engineering services in line with the statement of work and delivery methods. Ensure compliant delivery and reporting in line with contractual requirements. Manage all aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, Project Works, and Help Desk Calls as required. Assist and support Senior Engineering Management in ensuring health, safety, and contractual compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Ensure contractual compliance with all engineering delivery, responsible for technical delivery and governance of the contract requirements, and oversee the site teams to meet contractual obligations. Monitor and ensure all training requirements for engineering personnel are current and compliant. Assist regional leads in preparing emergency and contingency plans. Oversee contract activities, both maintenance and projects, ensuring safety is managed and monitored in line with procedures. Assist site teams in preparing budget documentation for client approvals. Support staff during peak workloads and provide holiday and sickness cover for the senior engineering team. Supervise staff, including full-time, part-time, matrix reports, subcontractors, and specialist providers. Provide technical guidance related to preventative maintenance and extra works delivery. Comply with all procedures and maintain clear and legible records as required. Manage emergency escalations out of hours and provide incident reports as necessary. Coordinate office support staff for compliance reporting and operations. Review and sign off planning of testing activities with the local team; attendance at these events may be required. Coordinate test windows with internal clients, including documentation control and management. Follow up on defects found, ensuring remediation and revalidation. Collect evidence that defects are corrected.

Critical Activities Support

Implement and validate procedures as required. Update and notify operational risks. Maintain a tracker for batteries and capacitors, ensuring timely replacement before critical failures. Perform annual plant condition assessments. Manage critical spares inventory. Review the PPM plan against statutory maintenance sheets, including CMMS maintenance plan and delivery. Oversee change requests that may impact critical services. Ensure fire system testing and recording. Close all actions from audits and assurance visits, producing and tracking gap plans. Provide monthly critical environment reporting. Manage personnel, including direct and indirect reports as required. Participate in succession planning, development, and training as assigned by engineering management.

Health and Safety

Fulfil the legal duty to care for the health and safety of yourself and others, following all guidance and instructions provided in this respect. Ensure compliance with all health and safety systems, permits, and reporting requirements. Travel: This role will require travel within the region and may include short-notice emergency travel. Key Performance Measures: As per the annual appraisal and review policy.

Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in critical engineering. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a lead or management role.

Qualifications

Trade qualification in an engineering discipline.

Desirable: Authorised Person (High Voltage/Mechanical Systems/Confined Space). Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent
