Job Description

Do you have over 5 years’ experience as a TWC working on large Nuclear, Rail or infrastructure projects, then we have a role for you.

You’ll be responsible for:

Assisting the PM or SM as required.

Key contact for all temporary works issues on the project including liaison with tier 1 contractors temporary works teams, temporary and permanent works designers, other members of the project team.

Responsible for the implementation of the temporary works procedure.

Establish and maintain the project temporary works register - a register to be kept updated from temporary works registers prepared and maintained by trade contractors.

Ensure that a design brief is prepared and issued to the temporary works designer.

Maintain the filing of temporary works records.

Duty of ensuring that all the relevant procedures, inspections and checks are carried out.

Coordinate all temporary work activities. Focus on the interfaces between work zones and/or trade contractors. Communicating to all relevant parties where temporary works of one contractor may adversely affect those of another.

Reviewing temporary works proposals from the design teams and trade contractors with support from the client project engineer, package managers, clerk of the works, etc.

Participate in weekly/pre-start look ahead meetings to identify and resolve temporary works and loading items in the “blocker/constraints schedule”.

Ensure that loadings (actions) from temporary works which may affect the permanent works are accepted by the permanent works designers.

Ensure that temporary works permits are approved and communicated to other members of the client site team.

Review, assessment & appointment of client TWSs where required for large or complex projects.

Ensure that detailed trade contractor procedures for the control of temporary works are produced and implemented through their own TWC.

Review the proposed appointment of the trade contractors TWCs in accordance with the clients temporary works procedure.

You’ll need to have:

A degree qualification in engineering or project management and a member of a relevant institute.

Experience and knowledge in the administration of NEC contracts.

Experience (5 years) and knowledge working as temporary works coordinator with CITB qualification.

Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.

Have experience in the defence and nuclear sectors ideally.

Construction delivery experience, ideally in nuclear/defence projects.

Temporary works background (co-ordinator role).

Site H&S management experience

Project or site manager with strong experience in temp works.
