Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
* Manage customer-funded and internal development/production programs.
* Assist with bid/scoping phases and oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
* Coordinate with various departments including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance.
* Manage schedules and resources to ensure on-time project delivery.
* Directly liaise with customers to fulfill contractual obligations.
* Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with export regulations for delivered equipment.
* Report on project progress, risks, and financial status to senior leadership.
* Support governance, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
* Help with bid preparation and manage projects requiring customer-funded development.
* Oversee subcontractors to ensure they meet contractual obligations.
* Act as the main point of contact for project status and performance updates.
* Estimate project costs and prepare schedules for bids.
* Facilitate communication across project teams, stakeholders, and other departments.
* Monitor progress against project plans and control budgets to avoid overruns.
* Take corrective action to stay on track with project timelines and financial targets.
* Organize Factory Acceptance Tests for deliverables.
* Coordinate equipment dispatch, delivery, and commissioning as required.
* Attend production and procurement meetings to ensure timely output.
* Travel within the UK and overseas when necessary, often at short notice.
Experience:
* HND or degree in project management or relevant experience.
* APM qualification is advantageous.
* 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in engineering development.
* Experience managing projects from initiation to closure.
* Budget management and forecasting experience.
* Software development project management experience is highly desirable
