Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Stowmarket.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
We have a young man who lives in Stowmarket in his own house. He has many interests he loves DR Who, classic cars and Coronation street.
You will support him with household tasks, cleaning, laundry, general maintenance in the home, Menu planning, cooking and shopping.
Also encouraging him to be active and walking into town and introducing him to new activities.
He needs 24 hour support and the shifts vary but will normally be from 0700am to 2300pm with a sleep in Monday to Friday with the introduction of alternate weekends in the near future.
What we're looking for:
· A genuine passion for supporting others.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
· Full-time:37.5 hrs
· Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
Driver preferred but not essential.
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
