Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum
Hybrid Working: On-site with flexibility
Client Overview - Estimator:
Our client is a highly regarded UK contractor, specialising in civil engineering and water infrastructure projects. They are seeking a Permanent Estimator to work on a major water framework in Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to take on a key role, replacing a long-standing team member. The successful candidate will play a critical part in estimating and tendering for infrastructure projects, ensuring the continued success of direct delivery operations.
Purpose of the Role - Estimator:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for water infrastructure projects. Using their expertise in estimating from first principles and knowledge of Conquest Estimating Software, the successful candidate will support the project team by producing tender programmes and contributing to the planning and delivery process.
Key Accountabilities - Estimator:
Prepare cost estimates for water infrastructure projects using Conquest Estimating Software.
Estimate from first principles, including gang build-ups for direct delivery projects.
Produce tender programmes and support planning processes (P6 knowledge is advantageous).
Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
Review project specifications and develop competitive, accurate costings.
Meet tender deadlines and provide ongoing support to the project team post-tender. Competency Requirements - Estimator:
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to estimating.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Estimator:
Experience using Conquest Estimating Software is essential.
Knowledge of estimating from first principles, gang build-ups, and direct delivery projects.
Experience working within the water sector is highly desirable.
Experience in planning and producing tender programmes, with knowledge of P6 being a bonus.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
