Architectural Technician

Do you thrive as an Architectural Technician managing residential developments and keen for a new role?

We are working with one of the industry's leading family owned housebuilders as they look to appoint an experienced Architectural Technician to their office based in Inverkeithing.

Working within the Technical department, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders including external Architectural and Engineering consultants to bring early design and approvals though the relevant Planning and Building Warrant stage as well as managing developments through the construction phases.

Key Responsibilities as Architectural Technician include:

• Running projects from inception through to completion, delivering the highest standard of design and graphic communication.
• Prepare designs, drawings and illustrations using AutoCAD.
• Obtain planning and building warrant applications for residential schemes.
• Complete energy calculations and EPCs for new build dwellings.
• Produce and monitor technical/construction specifications.
• Work as part of the adoptions team providing technical assistance to drive adoptions i.e.
• Scottish Water assets, landscaping and roads.
• Produce feasibility layouts for land appraisals.
• Manage the house type portfolio, construction, and structural engineer detailing.
• Produce design risk assessments.
• Undertake detailed design drawings for developments and house types.
• Ensure the preparation of all drawings, details and specifications necessary for start on site.
• Have a good knowledge of the Planning procedures , Building Regulations, NHBC standards,
• adoption processes and the overall technical process.
• Review and manage fee proposals from external consultants.
• Have an understanding of sustainability issues.
• Ensure all NHBC (and other warrantor) registrations are secured and conditions are
• discharged in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with CDM procedures
• Ensure the prompt distribution of all technical information to the other business disciplines.

To join this leading brand as Architectural Technician, ideally you will have some experience within the housebuilding industry in an associated design role and be familiar with AutoCAD. You will be a self starter, enjoy working to deadlines and good at building relationships with all stakeholders.
