The Company
An award-winning and leading main construction contractor that is committed to delivering high-quality projects across a variety of sectors. Our client has been in the industry for over 100 years and has built a renowned reputation for delivering complete construction solutions for some of the UK's biggest businesses. Due to an increase in workload, our client is looking to appoint a Contracts Manager that can deliver high-level fitout & refurbishment projects in the retail banking sector across the North West.
The Role
As the Contracts Manager, you will be reporting to the Operations Manager in delivering fitout and refurbishment projects across the retail banking sector within the North West.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
For this role you must possess the following;
- Experience working as a Contracts Manager on Refurbishment & Fit Out Projects in the Banking sector with values up to £1 million
- Be prepared to undertake a full background check
- Previous experience managing multiple fast paced projects
- NVQ Construction Management or equivalent
- SMSTS
- Able to Programme using MS Projects
- Experience dealing with blue chip clients and the public sector
- Higher education qualification, professional membership and / or equivalent professional experience is essential
Duties
- Reporting to the Operations Manager
- Write and update project programmes
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Enforce on labour selection and delegation
- Assist with project procurement requirements
- Ensure live project trackers and systems are kept up to date
- Ensure site packs are completed and sites are set up in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements
- Arrange and chair project meetings with all management team and clients, on and off site
- Manage projects on site and throughout to completion
- Implement RAMS strategies
- Manage internal construction teams and sub-contractors on site
- Manage contractor works and quality on site.
- Manage project variations with sub-contractor and clients
- Work with interior design team and attend design meetings on site when required
- Deliver all project KPI's
- Reviewing and managing value engineering options throughout project life cycles
- Monitor project budgets and costs
- Manage quality, snagging, and delivery, throughout project life cycles
- Sign off snagging on site with sub-contractors and clients
