Quantity Surveyor (Preston) - £50,000 - £55,000 + Package

You will be joining a SME based in Preston working on a range of exciting schemes valued up to £20m, predominantly based in the North West region. This organisation has a strong pipeline of work and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, the company is looking for a QS with proven commercial experience.
Your new role
The organisation is starting a number of new projects, and as it grows, the chosen applicant will have the chance to assume more responsibilities. For someone who is ambitious and wants to advance within a fast-growing, forward-thinking company, this is a fantastic opportunity.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Controlling project-related expenses.
• Creation of schedules and/or bills detailing the labour, material, and service quantities needed for building projects in connection with estimation and post-contract obligations.
• Fulfilling contractual and commercial obligations on the assigned projects in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assembling, evaluating, and submitting the work to the client.
• Offering guidance on the procurement strategy and assisting with the selection of the best method for completing the project.
• Accountability for ordering, valuing, and ultimate accounting for subcontractors.
• Composing letters to subcontractors and the client's representatives.
• Precise and thorough monthly cost-value reconciliations are prepared.
• Preparing contra-charge claims and agreeing to them with subcontractors.
• Upholding quality assurance protocols.
• Participating in pre-contract and site meetings and collaborating closely with the design team.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree/equivalent qualification (HNC/HND).
  
• Have at least five years’ experience in the QS role.
  
• Have experience of construction projects.
  
• Hold a full Driving Licence.
