Job Description

Senior MS SQL DBA

Swindon (Hybrid - x2 days in office/ x3 work from home)

We are looking for a SQL Database Administrator/Database Engineer looking to grow and develop skills in database design and development – working on solutions across a range of applications at various lifecycle stages from concept through to build, deployment and on-going maintenance.

The role predominantly sits across our Central Functions and Economic Crime portfolios, and you will be supporting projects across these teams making sure we have the applications’ databases configured in the right way to keep our systems performing at their best. You will be part of a small team of Database Administrators and Engineers but be part of a much wider Community of Practice, working with each other to achieve your best.

Due to the nature of this role role it will involve working unsociable hours to support business change, this can include at night and across weekends for some deployments. This is a 35 hour week contract but there may be the infrequent over time.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at one of our offices. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
