Job Description

Senior Network Engineer - 5G Private Networks LLD - 3-6 month contract.

Applicants must be flexible to travel to customer sites across the UK.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer specializing in Low-Level Design (LLD) for Private 5G Networks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and documenting detailed network architectures that meet business and technical requirements for private 5G deployments. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including customer’s IT team, radio access network (RAN) engineers, core network engineers, and project managers, to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance 5G solutions tailored to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Low-Level Designs (LLD): Based project HLD, create detailed LLD documents that outline the technical specifications, configurations, and implementation guidelines for private 5G network deployments, including RAN, core, and edge components.

Network Architecture and Design: Design end-to-end network solutions for private 5G, including RAN, core network, transport, and integration with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Technical Specifications: Define network parameters, configurations, protocols, and technologies in customer projects aligning with business and technical requirements.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with customer’s IT team, and in-house RAN engineers, software developers, security experts, and other stakeholders to ensure the designed solutions are technically sound and aligned with project goals.

Performance Optimization: Design solutions to optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability, including considerations for redundancy, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.

Documentation: Prepare comprehensive LLD documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and testing plans, to guide implementation teams through the deployment process.

Standards and Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in private 5G, cybersecurity, and telecommunications.

Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support during the deployment phase, assist with troubleshooting, and refine LLDs based on feedback from field teams.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest developments in 5G technologies and standards, and recommend improvements to design methodologies and tools.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., 5G NR, CCNA/CCNP, AWS/GCP Cloud, etc.) is a plus.

Extensive experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years focused on 5G or LTE networks. Proven experience in designing LLDs for telecom or private network solutions, especially within the 5G domain.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of 5G network components, including RAN, core, transport, and edge computing. Proficiency in network design tools (e.g., Visio, NetBrain) and simulation software. Knowledge of SDN, NFV, MEC, and network slicing principles. Familiarity with security protocols, QoS, and network performance optimization techniques.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating documentation and collaborating with cross-functional in-house and customer teams. Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Certifications (preferred): Relevant certifications such as 5G NR, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper, Nokia, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) related to networking and telecom.
