Client Director Property (Core & Volume)


Permanent, full-time


35 hours a week, home-based with travel to Davies and client offices as required


Previous property insurance experience is essential


Client Directors at Davies are the principal point of contact for our insurance market clients. They build strong relationships with technical and procurement teams within client organisations to establish themselves as a trusted advisor, someone that understands their needs and can champion those needs internally to ensure a strategic partnership is built and maintained and a first-class service is delivered. Commercially astute and excellent communicators, our client directors immerse themselves in their client to allow them to pre-empt challenges and proactively identify opportunities to enhance and grow the relationship.


Key Accountabilities


Client Development:

  • Establish and deliver client plans with clear relationship development and growth objectives to ensure you maintain trusted strategic relationships and achieve sustainable profitable account growth.
  • Direct day-to-day client engagement to proactively drive client partnerships forward, regularly seeking feedback regarding the services delivered and ensuring that feedback is acted upon so that we continually meet expectations and maintain the ongoing positive health of our client relationships.
  • Know the client’s business, competitors and markets as well as the goals and objectives of their key individuals, with whom you will maintain strong and trusted relations, and ensure these insights are relayed internally and acted upon for the benefit of the client and Davies.
  • Deliver sustainable and profitable growth of client relationships through the proactive identification and introduction of appropriate new solutions to the client with the support of subject matter experts.
  • Monitor and address pricing levels across client accounts, securing price enhancements with clients to ensure viability of service delivery is maintained.
  • Provide forecasts on future volumes and work shares by claim type based on insights gathered from client stakeholders to support operational planning and effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and manage business development budgets to ensure proportionate and targeted relationship development activities
  • Ensure preparedness for supplier/panel reviews including communicating insights regarding requirements and expectations to internal stakeholders engaged to support retention.
  • Play a lead role in the development and tailoring of RFP responses for client retention and growth pursuits in alignment with Davies proposal management process


Service Delivery:

  • Develop and agree targeted KPIs and SLAs with clients and closely monitor adherence, service standards and MI quality. Proactively and transparently communicating performance metrics and improvement opportunities to client stakeholders.
  • Establish open communication channels to regularly obtain feedback from clients as to overall satisfaction.
  • Understand MI requirements, manage client expectations and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate MI analysis.
  • Drive internal engagement with the client plan through regular internal update meetings that raise awareness of objectives and ensure delivery of required actions.
  • Prepare and maintain client service guidelines that inform optimum service delivery aligned to client processes, claims philosophies and target outcomes.
  • Understand the client’s strategy and future vision and effectively relay those insights to relevant internal stakeholders for proposition development and ensuring that added value activities align with their interests
  • Proactively pursue client growth opportunities in line with Davies proposal management protocols to ensure targeted, timely and qualified responses to identified client needs.
  • Ensure all appropriate contractual documentation is in place with each client to underpin well governed relationships and maintain all documentation in a referenceable format within the client contract database.
  • Ensure individuals within your clients are exposed to relevant thought leadership material and are invited to Davies hosted events and conferences that are useful to the performance of their roles.


Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Significant relationship management experience in the insurance industry
  • Excellent communicator experienced in identifying and building trusted relationships with influencers and decision makers within client organisations
  • Extensive knowledge of the property insurance market, ideally in a claims management context
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable client growth
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously to understand and respond to client challenges
  • Sound understanding of MI reporting with a keen eye for detail
