About Our Client

We are working with a family owned Owner's Representative out of the Downtown Chicago looking for a Project Accountant to join the team. The Construction Company are well-established and have a robust pipeline of future projects in the luxury custom residential market. The business uses Sage300/Timberline accounting/project management software. The role will report to the Accounting Director and be a part of a Project Accounting team that also works closely with Project Managers.

Job Description

• Produce weekly AP reports and report job cash flow.
• Process weekly check runs based on Project Manager approval.
• Handle subcontractor inquiries timely.
• Collect, cost code, obtain approval and input into Sage300/Timberline system following company policies and procedures.
• Vendor maintenance.
• Track Lien Waivers from subcontractors and ensures compliance.
• Manages special payment terms and monitoring joint check agreements.
• Review cost code activity for accuracy
• Budget preparation and review with Project Manager.
• Review committed cost reports monthly.
• Responsible for preparing Requisitions (billings) for PM's review
• Accounts Receivable input and monitoring collection.
• Job Close-Out- initiate and monitor this process issuing and collecting final lien waivers
• Owner and Subcontractor Change Order review - reviews and approves for Timberline

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Degree
• Sage300/Timberline Software
• 3+ years of Project Accounting for Commercial Construction Projects
• Strong communication skills to partner with Finance and Operations team
