Our client is a small to mid size general contractor who was recently awarded one of the best places to work by the Washington Business Journal. Our client specializes in corporate office interior construction in the 1-5M range and approx 10,000 sq.ft. Most of their work is relationship driven and over 90% of business is from repeat customers.
Job Description
The Superintendent - Commercial Interiors/Hospitality - DC Metro will be responsible for:
- Managing day-to-day on-site construction activities, specifically for framing
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations
- Monitoring construction to ensure it adheres to plans
- Coordinating the subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
- Working closely with the project management team to develop and maintain construction schedules
- Monitoring project budgets and expenses
- Identifying and resolving issues

The Successful Applicant
The Superintendent - Commercial Interiors/Hospitality - DC Metro will have:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Superintendent with a focus on commercial interior projects is essential, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the DC metro area.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, and methods, particularly related to interior fit-outs and renovations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or LEED AP are a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with diverse project stakeholders.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successfully managing construction teams and subcontractors.
- Technology: Proficiency in construction project management software and tools is preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, ensuring precision in project execution and documentation.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in the DC metro area.
