Hours: Full-time, working mainly daytimes and some early evenings. 5/7

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our team and help us deliver exceptional food and service.

Job Description:

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality meals for students and staff. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the planning, preparation, and cooking of nutritious and appealing meals, ensuring that all dietary requirements are met.
• Overseeing kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising kitchen staff and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Helping to develop new menu ideas that meet the school's standards for quality and nutrition.
• Managing inventory, ensuring all ingredients are available and properly stored, and minimizing waste.
• Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, organized, and running efficiently.
• Assisting in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, ideally in a contract catering or educational environment.
• A passion for cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety standards in a kitchen setting.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• A positive attitude, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Relevant culinary qualifications and food safety certification.
