Building Controls Project Manager

Overview: Seeking a skilled Controls Project Manager with experience in managing control systems projects and smart building controls. The role involves overseeing all project aspects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality completion. The ideal candidate will excel in leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with construction trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage client engagement, budgeting, installation, and logistics for approved projects.


• Oversee project execution, addressing challenges as they arise.


• Coordinate with stakeholders, including property managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.


• Ensure seamless internal project handoff and communication.


• Monitor project progress, report status, and manage documentation.


• Negotiate labor pricing and manage installation activities.


• Track and complete all billing, invoicing, and project revisions.


• Communicate change orders and manage resources to maintain project profitability.


• Monitor project financials and ensure successful project closeout.

Skills and Abilities:

• Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.


• Strong collaboration and team leadership.


• Proficient in project and financial management tools, including Microsoft Office.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience:

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.


• Required: 2+ years of controls project management experience.


• Expertise in building automation, HVAC controls, and energy management.

Physical Requirements:

• Available for occasional off-hours support, including weekends and evenings.


• Ability to travel up to 10% and lift up to 20 pounds.
