Job Description

This position will be a manager for a team of bid desk analysts working in a centralized hub for both internal and external customers throughout Motili footprint providing timely, knowledgeable and professional sales support to grow the Light Commercial business with primary focus on Rooftops, VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume), Ductless and PTAC product lines. This position will work closely with individual team members to support closing sales opportunities that grow revenue and close the deal at the highest margin possible for the situation according to company strategy and direction. The Project (Bid) Desk Manager's team will provide quotes, ensure inbound pricing and bid requests are managed effectively, provide documentation & submittals, process orders, and support commercial project transactions.

Position Responsibilities May include:
  • Manage analysts and the day to day operations of the Bid Desk
  • Oversee all bids and bids for projects throughout the company
  • Request bids from vendors, subcontractors, and contractors for services
  • Prepare bids, bids summaries, bid packages, and bid documents
  • Compile and analyze bid data
  • Assist in contract negotiation
  • Provide direction to management, staff, and vendors regarding bid processes and communications
  • Proactively seek feedback regarding bid procedures and services
  • Work closely with management, staff, and vendors to ensure smooth bidding procedures
  • Research, compile, and analyze project requirements, specifications, and bid packages, and summarize key findings for project team
  • Analyze bid packages, conduct bid evaluations, and participate at bid opening
  • Manage bid distribution, including primary distribution of bid packages, as well as distribution of bid packages to subcontractors and vendors
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders
  • Update and maintain project calendars
  • Estimate project costs, and submit bid tabulations
  • Create and maintain project files
  • Meet with subcontractors, vendors, and owners to discuss project issues
  • Prepare and issue change orders
  • Manage projects from inception to closeout
  • Maintain project databases
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Manager/Director

  • Provides guidance and training to subordinates
  • Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance and recommend for termination
  • Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

  • Excellent industry knowledge and a willingness to keep up with trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills

Experience:
  • 8+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Preferred experience in HVAC or related mechanical fields

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, economics, energy, and/or a similar field preferred

People Management: Yes

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Travel up to 25% of the time

Reports To:
  • Director, Field Operations

Salary: $104,730
