Duration: 6 Months Contract





Job Description:

As the EHS Specialist, you will develop into a business partner to help support the business groups’ EHS goals and the path to achieve it, while ensuring corporate EHS goals and legal requirements are being met.
You will be responsible for supporting the local EHS functions and other departments with a primary focus on engineering labs.





Responsibilities:

Provide day to day EHS support for our engineering labs and associated special projects, in both the manufacturing and R&D roles.
Develop and implement EHS programs, and training.
Partner with managers, supervisors, and team leaders in incident investigations, corrective action deployment, and effectiveness evaluations.
Participate in local or project safety committees.
Responsible for compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, US EPA, US OSHA, DOT, state environmental and safety regulators, and industry group standards.
Support the site level requirements for our ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs.
Participate on the site Emergency Response programs including first-aid, CPR, spills, fire/evacuation, and other critical programs.
Conduct periodic audits related to the EHS management systems, compliance, and company policy/procedure conformance.
Track & monitor date required to complete all required environmental, safety, and other regulatory reports per local requirements.
Be the EHS expert for the teams you support with excellent customer service.
Audit your areas for conformance to company and regulatory EHS programs.
Manage the site-level risk assessment process.
Obtain and maintain appropriate EHS credentials required to be successful in this position.
This includes but not limited to LSO certification, ISO internal auditor training, hazardous materials & hazardous waste management, and DOT. (MUST)





Experience:

3-5 years of EHS experience.
Experience in California environmental and safety regulations is a must.
Laser Safety Officer (LSO Certification a Must Have) qualification.
Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
Must be proficient in MS Office programs.
Excellent project management skills and ability to work to commitments.
Communicate concepts in a succinct and easy to comprehend manner.
Experience with EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) preferred.
Professional EHS certifications like CHMM, CSP, or CIH are preferred (PLUS).



Skills:

California environmental and safety regulations.
Laser Safety Officer (LSO Certification a Must Have).





Education:

Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a large facility or multiple locations.
