We are looking for experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist our client who is a market leader within the Nuclear industry, involved in a cutting edge project for a new type of Power Station.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ROLE

Support the Manager Containment Vessel Structure in the development of the DR3 designs for the Containment System [JMA], Containment Vessel structure [PT250] and designs of related mechanical structures ahead of the DR3 review scheduled for Q4 2024. This will require embedment into the Definition Review (DR) process, and its applied governance and core deliverables.

Specifically, this will involve maturing the design, manufacturing & construction of the Containment Vessel & integrated structures and component interfaces with reinforcement penetrations designs into the SMR plant layout.

Produce and collate all deliverables for DR3s for both the Containment System [JMA] and Containment Vessel structure [PT250], to lead & participate in related DR3 deliverables. Deliverables will include (but not limited to), a DFMEA, review of the Containment System [JMA] HAZID, Human Factors checklists, Risk Register updates, design calculations, Initial Method of Manufacture report, material selection decision record, PFMEA, build schedule and cost model, as well as continually updating all DOORS modules (requirements, assumptions, design definition and component safety classifications).

The role will be part of an expanding team and will require collaboration with new and existing FTEs/secondees.
