Job Description

There’s a 6 month contracted opportunity for you to work on one of our flagship retail sites in Central London as a Mechanical Supervisor. This role will be responsible for a team 8 mechanical engineers on site.


The Role


  • Be the first point of contact for Engineers for instruction and support.
  • Receive work instructions and undertake all small work tasks in accordance with detailed request; Co-ordinate teams and stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor and control works until completion effectively.
  • Ensure the minor projects/small works are running accordingly with the installation and specification requirements whilst ensuring compliance with specification and contract documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate directly employed team and sub-contractors to ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables.
  • Enter dialogue with the Client’s representative to ensure there are no outstanding issues and to ensure the overall quality of service delivery.
  • Complete all electronic and paper records such that an accurate record remains on site for the Client’s information and approval.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Codes of Safe Working and other Environmental issues to ensure total compliance with Dalkia UK’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
  • Report any omissions or risks that might compromise a Safe Working Environment.
  • Report on the performance of any sub-contracted works.
  • Maintain good communications with the Client with the progress of all outstanding works.
  • Make recommendations to the Contract Manager on matters concerning continuous improvement and “adding value” that may improve the productivity, costs, quality of service delivery etc. of all work for which the Company has a responsibility.
  • Complete as and when necessary, any remedial emergency works.
  • Ensure plant & work areas Dalkia UK are responsible for are always clean and tidy and safe environment is maintained.
  • Respond to client requests promptly.
  • Look for ways to continually enhance the operation of the site and its operation.
  • Any other duties as required / requested by the Supervisor / Contract Manager.
  • Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and you may be required to assist the Business with other duties as appropriate.


Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 8,00am – 4.30pm, 40 hours per week

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Previous experience leading a team of Engineers
  • Results/ task orientated, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Appropriate Level 3 City and Guilds qualification or ONC / NVQ 3 in Building Services / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Professional approach and demonstrates respect for others
  • Ability to work on own initiative, solve problems and work as part of a team
