Job Description

Role: Band 6/7 Speech & Language Therapist
Location: Salisbury
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £35000.00 per annum
Contract: Full-time, starting November 2024 (Negotiable)

About the role:

The AHP team at Pulse is currently seeking an enthusiastic, friendly individual to join our small but expanding team in Salisbury. We are currently a team of two Speech and Language Therapists and two Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. Although we have individual caseloads of pupils who we see on a 1:1 basis, we work closely together in a supportive manner. We regularly access both internal and external clinical supervision and meet on a weekly basis for CPD. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working at a specialist institution for pupils aged 7-18 with dyslexia and associated learning difficulties. Our ethos is to build pupils' confidence through continuous support and celebration of success.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

You will work with a specialist caseload of pupils who have specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, language disorders, and social communication difficulties. You will collaborate closely with onsite Occupational Therapists, the Pastoral team, and Academic and Boarding Staff to ensure communication targets are incorporated into the educational setting. You will utilize dedicated therapy rooms for sessions with pupils. You will manage individual caseloads, working closely with a small number of pupils, often several times per week. You will ensure sessions are targeted, useful, and enjoyable for pupils using a variety of assessments and resources.

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • HCPC registration.
  • Membership of the RCSLT.
  • Completion of newly qualified competency framework.
  • A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.

What you will get:

  • The equivalent of 33 days annual leave and term time off.
  • Wellbeing support and activities.
  • Career development and training - develop specialist skills throughout your time with us.
  • Pension contribution.
  • Life Assurance.

Why work with Pulse?
