Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £35000.00 per annum
Contract: Full-time/Part-time, 52 weeks per year

Description:

Pulse have recently partnered with one of the leading healthcare providers. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Occupational Therapist to join our small but expanding OT department. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, independent approach to work.

Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:

You will manage an individual caseload of pupils with less complex occupational therapy needs. You will conduct observations and assessments to understand pupils' occupational performance strengths and areas of need. You will work with pupils, parents, and school staff to set client-centred occupational therapy targets. You will produce comprehensive and accurate assessment reports annually. You will maintain up-to-date and accurate case notes in line with RCOT professional standards. You will plan and conduct evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including community visits. You will provide advice to pupils and relevant individuals. You will work with other professionals to ensure holistic care for pupils. You will deliver training to promote positive occupational therapy practices. You will attend annual reviews for pupils with Education, Health & Care plans (EHCPs). You will produce your own timetable to ensure funded provision is met. You will report any concerns regarding funded provision to the line manager. You will maintain and care for equipment, ensuring standards of infection control and safety. You will ensure sufficient resources for individual caseloads. You will work with senior colleagues to produce purchase orders for required equipment. You will contribute to the development of OT students as required. You will engage in continuing professional development and self-directed learning. You will demonstrate clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice and outcome measures. You will attend regular supervision sessions and periodic Personal Development Meetings. You will find and attend external training programs beneficial for pupils and the school.

What we are looking for in an Occupational Therapist:

  • HCPC registered.
  • Relevant degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy with pupils and their families
  • Ability to manage own time and caseload, prioritising tasks with support
  • Excellent reflection skills
  • Experience working with pupils aged 7-18 with Occupational Therapy needs
  • Knowledge of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD, and associated conditions
  • Experience in clinical assessment, planning and implementing intervention programs, and report writing
  • Up-to-date clinical knowledge
