Responsibilities:
- On-Site Leadership:
- Work as the Lead onsite alongside a carpentry crew of 1-3 team members.
- Collaborate with and lead subcontractors through remodeling and addition projects.
- Communicate with all stakeholders, customers, clients, PM's, inspectors, vendors, subs, onsite and office teams. We require impeccable spoken and written communication skills.
- Perform various carpentry tasks including framing, door and window installations, wooden stairways, flooring, cabinet installations, trim carpentry, and more.
- Ensure the site is organized, clean, and safe.
- Project Management:
- Utilize project management software to update project information promptly, including Change Orders.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
- Time and Budget Management:
- Keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction with project progress and results.
- Communication:
- Act as the point of contact for all project phases and stakeholders.
- Maintain constant communication with all involved parties.
- Communicate Change Order requests to management in a timely fashion while adjusting the project schedule accordingly.
- Mentorship and Support:
- Assist co-workers and contribute to their learning and development.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in all phases of residential construction.
- Demonstrated expertise in carpentry and remodeling. Well-rounded in all aspects from Framing to Finishing.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient in project management software or willingness to learn.
- Work Attributes:
- Possesses own tools.
- Prompt, courteous, and maintains a can-do attitude.
- Friendly and polite demeanor.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry heavy materials, work in tight spaces, and safely use ladders.
- Comfortable working on roofing and at heights.
- Completion of a carpentry program at a vocational school or carpentry apprenticeship is a bonus.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction.
- Proficient in tool safety and using electric, pneumatic, and hand tools as well as measurement tools.
- Be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Experience using project management software (or willingness to learn) including maintaining online scheduling, budgeting, file management, etc.
- Passion for craftsmanship, building, precision, and getting the job done the best way possible.
