Job Description

Oceanside Logistics Ltd are looking for a Transport Planner to join our rapidly expanding Southampton branch. We are looking for an individual with a can do attitude, who is capable of taking action and making decisions in a timely manner.

The key tasks include:

  • Data Input & updating of our TOPS Transport system
  • Customer service correspondence on email & telephone
  • Assist with routing the company fleet & sub-contractors as effectively as possible to suit workload
  • Pricing & routing of transport jobs in the most cost effective way to suit budget
  • Liaise with Drivers, Sub-Contractors and Customers to check everything is in place & to ensure job completion and satisfaction
  • Keeping customers informed of job status updates & Late runners in a timely fashion
  • Booking VBS slots for vehicles onto ports to collect container

Need a candidate able to multi task & comfortable working in a busy environment.

Ideally with previous knowledge of the TOPS operating system, DP World VBS system and an understanding of Shipping Containers, Drivers working hours & Transport.

A good UK geographical knowledge would be very beneficial.

You will work closely with the traffic team & other departments to meet daily transport requirements.

Core office hours (0730-1700) + rotational out of hours work on an evening / weekend when required. These tasks would be shared between the team.


You will report directly to the Transport Manager.

Salary negotiable depending upon experience, Competitive holiday entitlement & pension scheme once probationary period completed.
