Salary up to £41,000 per annum

Overtime @ time and a half after 40 hours

Occasional Saturday working is required

THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group are seeking an HGV Mechanic to join our client based in Durham. The company in question are seeking someone to join their maintenance and repair team who service a range of heavy goods vehicles. THE ROLE

• Prepare vehicles for MOT, perform six-weekly inspections, and carry out general maintenance and repairs.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems, offering effective solutions.
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained to a high standard and are safe for road use.
• Provide off-site assistance for vehicle breakdowns.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota every other week (additional pay provided).
• Maximize fleet availability and ensure vehicles are always ready for use.

THE PERSON

• Demonstrable experience as an HGV mechanic.
• Possession of a valid HGV Class 2 licence.
• Comprehensive understanding of HGV servicing and repairs.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• A flexible approach to working hours.
• Willingness to assist with other tasks within the business when needed.
