Job Description

This role will support the Residual Risk Manager proactively manage the residual value portfolio (i.e the portfolio of assets that are approaching the end of their current cycle which currently stands at c.£130m),safeguarding the business from residual losses.
This role would be suitable for someone with great communications skills and is comfortable talking articulately on the phone. Any commercial vehicle, truck, coach or bus leasing experience would be seen as advantageous.
The main elements of the role:
  • Execute the end of lease outcome as set out in the End of Term Annual Strategy/ADP.
  • Proactively manage the Maturity of a Residual Value process which will includedirect contact with the customer or our BDM where the asset is being replaced.
  • Participate in negotiations with the customer on Contract Extensions or Asset Disposal.

Maintain strong working ties with other stake holders across the business:
  • Liaise with the Business Development Managers in respect of impending Contract Maturities particularly ifAAG is looking to replace an existing vehicle.
  • Liaise with the Fleet Engineers to provide details of an asset to be returned that will need to be inspected & being involved in the decision process of where the asset needs to be returned to.
  • Liaise with Fleet to obtain fresh R&M Budgets relating to any contract extensions.
  • Liaise with TTS / Used Vehicle Sales Director to advise on any imminent vehicle returns.
  • Deal with any mid-term pricing alterations such as usage increases, changes in the contract term.
  • Be the focal point for any mid-term early terminations / early settlements and ensure the AAG Financial position is protected.

Person Specification
  • Strong attention to detail leaning toward analytical.
  • Great communications skill - comfortable with talking on the phone. Sales or customers services experience where phone was the primary form of communication would be seen as advantageous.
  • Ability to work on own initiative under minimal supervision and demonstrating a strong work
    ethic.
  • Inquisitive nature with a heightened sense of responsibility.
  • To have a reasonable knowledge of Excel.
  • Instinctive ability to trace, check and fix issues.
  • Ability to cross reference multiple sources of data in query resolution.
  • Good business process understating across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to listen and provide assistance in resolving issues or recognising appropriate escalation points.
  • Calm manner and clear communicator, comfortable to talk to customers or colleagues over the phone or face to face.
  • Works with colleagues in a collaborative manner to achieve objectives.
  • High levels of initiative & problem solving skills.
  • Display effective time management, meeting prescribed deadlines for both internal and external activities.
  • Follow processes correctly.
  • Knowledge of the UK transport sector would be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of UK Asset Finance
  • Eagerness to learn and self develop.
