Part Time Maintenance Engineer

Weekend Maintenance Engineer (Saturday & Sunday + ad hoc shifts during the week for cover) - 2pm to 10pm

Salary: £42,200 per annum (pro rata) (£20ph)

Role Overview of Maintenance Engineer:

We are seeking a Weekend Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dynamic team and take responsibility for maintaining and repairing machinery a food manufacturing facility based in Scunthorpe. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients production processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the delivery of top-quality products to their customers.

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery including peelers, Multivac, boxing machines, metal detectors, and weigh checkers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
• Work independently and make quick and effective decisions to address any equipment failures or malfunctions.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
• Provide support during weekend shifts (6-2 or 2-10) and be available to cover holidays during the week as required.
• Collaborate with shift supervisors to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements of Maintenance Engineer:

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• HACCP training and understanding of food safety regulations advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, making decisions quickly and effectively.
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts and cover holidays during the week.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
