Job Summary
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for a Contracts Specialist. You will be a key member of the Military Aircraft Group, Wolverhampton, Contracts Team, reporting to a Contracts Team Lead. You will manage the contractual and administrative activities for a number of contracts/customer accounts/programmes, ensuring compliance with the agreed obligations between Moog Wolverhampton and its customers.


You will have various responsibilities and tasks that require excellent communication and organisational skills. For instance, you will provide regular updates on the order book/delivery status to customers, who may require periodic visits to their premises. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers as well as delivering a high-quality service that enhances Moogs reputation. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload according to the internal and external customer needs and act as the single point of contact for the company in the absence or in support of the programme manager.

Responsibilities Include

  • Reviewing customer purchase orders and creating sales orders in the Moog ERP system and following up until sales order close out.
  • Providing formal acknowledgements and regular updates on order progress to customers.
  • Reviewing contractual terms in customer purchase orders for compliance, consistency, and risk assessment.
  • Producing and submitting quotations to customers using the company CRM tool and coordinating with functional disciplines on lead times and prices.
  • Managing customer web-based portals for order retrieval, delivery forecast, and quotation submission.
  • Assisting the Contracts Team Lead and/or Contracts Manager with proposal preparation and submission as, needed.
  • Collaborating with other functional disciplines to provide quotations and updates to customers.
  • Participating in and facilitating Lean/Kaizen events
  • Updating and maintaining an accurate and auditable filing and archiving system

Key Skills and experience

  • More than two years in a customer focused team i.e., customer account adviser/assistant programme manager/customer liaison or within a contracts/commercial function.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, ideally in business management or contract law.
  • Experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP), from order creation to close out.
  • Able to be highly productive when working on their own or within a team.
  • Experience of sales contracting.
  • Ability to influence and convince others.
  • Must be articulate and persuasive and be comfortable when communicating with a broad range of multi-functional staff at differing levels of seniority within the organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise many different tasks and to work to tight customer deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding and application of contract provisions such as warranties, remedies etc.
  • Knowledge and application of UK and US Government conditions, i.e., DEFCONs and FARs and DFARS

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
