This position involves a range of carpentry tasks including building load-bearing walls, installing siding and shingles, constructing dormers, and more. We are seeking individuals with a robust background in residential construction who are ready to bring their expertise to our dynamic team.

Who we are:

We are a homebuilder that specializes in system-built homes. We offer customers a 'one stop builder' service - we help the customer with everything -- design -- dirt work - concrete - utilities -- to getting the home move-in ready. We take the hassle out of the home buying process by providing more service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Construct and install load-bearing walls and structural components of modular homes. Working with cranes onsite, making all connections, and exterior envelope finishing.
  • Install various types of siding, roofing materials and steps and decking.
  • Build dormers and manage the framing and finishing of exteriors for homes and additions.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely project progression.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment on-site.
  • Manage tools and materials efficiently to minimize waste and maintain project timelines.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Proven experience as a carpenter in residential construction, with a focus on modular or prefabricated homes preferred.
  • Possession of a valid South Dakota Driver's License; Class A CDL is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding work, including lifting at least 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of construction tools, carpentry techniques, and blueprints.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Benefits:
  • Wages - Competitive Pay - With Overtime Hours there is potential to make $50,000 - $75,000 per year
  • Health Insurance - Paid in Full for Employee - Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Paid Time Off - one week after six months - thereafter-3.05 hours per two week pay period. We allow employees to carry over two weeks of vacation at year-end.
  • 401K - We match contributions dollar for dollar up to a 4% contribution.
  • Holidays - New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Year-end Bonus Potential
  • Per Diem Covered ($60 day) On Travel Projects

Schedule:
  • Our crews are working 40 to 65 hours per week during prime season.
  • This is a year-round position. We strive for 40 hours during the winter.

Work Location:
  • Many of our jobs are within 90 miles of Fort Pierre.
    • We provide transportation from River Bluff Custom Homes to and from the job site.
  • Overnight travel is sometimes required. When we go out of town, we work longer days and generally, our crew will leave on a Monday and return on a Friday.
    • River Bluff pays from the time we leave office to the site.
    • We provide lodging and pay an extra $30 per person per day for overnight travel. We furnish a vehicle.
  • Our market area is South Dakota, northern Nebraska, southern North Dakota and western Wyoming. Our primary market area is central South Dakota.
