QAD Application design, development, testing including customizations, conversions, reports, interfaces, EDI, data migration and understanding of manufacturing/supply chain-distribution processes
Job Description:
Senior QAD ERP Developer will assist with the migration of the legacy MS Dynamics ERP systems to QAD EE on Progress Database and Linux servers.
This role involves hands-on data migration, application design, development, testing, and integration.
You will collaborate with various teams to ensure the ERP system aligns with our manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes.
Expertise in EDI and related business processes is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Migration:Develop and implement data migration strategies to transition data from MS Dynamics or other ERP systems to QAD EE on Progress Database.
Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Address and resolve data-related issues during the migration process.
Application Design & Development:Design and develop custom solutions within QAD EE, tailored to our business needs.
Configure and optimize QAD EE modules and applications to function seamlessly within a Progress Database and Linux environment.
Write and maintain code to customize and enhance QAD EE functionality.
Testing & Quality Assurance:Develop comprehensive test plans and perform rigorous testing to validate the accuracy and functionality of migrated data and custom applications.
Identify, document, and resolve bugs or issues related to the migration and application development.
Ensure that the system meets all performance, security, and compliance requirements.
EDI & Integration:Implement and manage EDI processes to facilitate smooth electronic data interchange between QAD EE and other external systems.
Develop and configure integrations with various enterprise systems including CRM, SCM, and WMS to ensure seamless data flow.
Process Knowledge:Apply expertise in manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes to ensure that QAD EE supports these business functions effectively.
Provide recommendations for system and process improvements based on industry best practices and business requirements.
Documentation & Training:Create and maintain detailed documentation for data migration processes, application designs, system configurations, and EDI processes.
Conduct training sessions for end-users and IT staff on the functionalities of QAD EE and best practices.
Support & Troubleshooting:Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the QAD EE system post-migration.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to QAD EE, Progress Database, and Linux environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in migrating ERP systems, specifically from MS Dynamics or other ERP platforms to QAD EE.
Hands-on experience with data migration tools, ETL processes, and data mapping.
Proficiency in application design and development within QAD EE, with a strong understanding of Progress Database and Linux environments.
Knowledge of EDI processes and experience with ERP integrations.
In-depth understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in QAD EE or relevant ERP systems.
Experience with Progress Database and Linux environments.
Familiarity with additional programming languages or technologies related to ERP development.
