Light Electric Co., Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrician specializing in Industrial Controls to join our team. As a Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for leading a team on-site, ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex industrial electrical systems. This role requires a Journeyman Electrician with 5-10 years of experience in industrial controls and a proven track record of leadership and project management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and supervise a team of electricians on-site, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.
    • Coordinate daily work activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
  • Installation and Maintenance:
    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical control systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and automation systems.
    • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and company policies.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues in industrial control systems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
    • Utilize testing equipment and tools to identify problems and verify the functionality of electrical components.
  • Project Management:
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review project specifications, blueprints, and requirements.
    • Plan and execute electrical projects from start to finish, ensuring resource allocation, material procurement, and quality control.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, inspection logs, and maintenance documentation.
    • Communicate project status, issues, and progress to management and clients regularly.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Experience:
    • 5-10 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a focus on industrial controls and automation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
    • Solid understanding of NEC standards and industrial safety regulations.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
