ABOUT THE JOB

Support system leadership in all aspects of business development, identifying opportunities that align with the strategic direction of the system, support its mission and enhance revenue through the assessment and development of new product lines/services. Utilize strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to develop, prepare, and interpret complex financial analyses, financial projections, financial modeling, and reports used by all levels of System Management in decision-making. Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with School of Medicine department chairs and administrators and MU Health Care administrators to facilitate planning and business development initiatives.

SALARY RANGE $68,266 - $111,426

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership in planning efforts for service lines, business units or cross-entity strategic initiatives. In collaboration with administrative and physician leadership, develop multi-year business plans that tell compelling stories with data and guide leadership in making educated, smart business decisions.

Monitor market intelligence, industry trends, existing or new regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations. Prepare for leadership use related reports and presentations and provide recommendations on material applicability in decision-making.

Evaluate new business opportunities; assess potential impact and formulate strategic recommendations in response to change in the health care environment; participate in various ad-hoc projects. Identify, analyze, and monitor issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity of market segments, competitors, service lines and payers.

Collaborate with other Corporate Services to include Finance, Facilities, Real Estate, IT, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, HR, System Contracting, Marketing and others to produce and collect relevant data necessary for the planning process. Lead planning team members to accomplish specific projects according to parameters and timelines set by executive leadership for strategic and business initiatives.

Serve as an expert resource in Planning and Business Development maintaining diverse data sources, model documents, templates and other reusable knowledge assets. Use artistic visualization techniques and tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Mapping/GIS) to make information memorable. Create analytically rigorous, actionable insights and recommendations that drive informed business decision-making.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters' Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or a related area or experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired

Minimum of three years' experience in health care, preferably with experience in strategic business planning.

Proven skills in the use of statistical analyses and advanced use of office software, with specific skills in use of spreadsheets, data base software and presentation software

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both, verbally and in writing, willingness to take initiative and work autonomously, work schedule flexibility, project management skills and ability to work well with other in a team-oriented environment.
