About Us

Visit East of England (VEE) is the official tourism organisation and consumer website dedicated to enhancing the region's visitor economy. We collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and local authorities in Suffolk and Norfolk. Operating under the parent company Visit East Anglia, a private sector, not-for-profit organisation established in 2011, VEE has been driving regional tourism growth since its inception in Autumn 2018. The visitor economy of our region is currently valued at £5.6bn and employs over 100,000 people.


The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and resilient Sales Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the Business Development Executive in managing and renewing paid listings on Visit Norfolk and Visit Suffolk, as well as seizing opportunities to sell new listings, e-newsletters, e-magazines, onsite adverts, and conference sponsorships.


The role requires a driven individual who thrives under pressure and is motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets. If you are someone who doesn't back down from a challenge and is fuelled by the prospect of earning uncapped commissions, this position is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Renew and expand existing client listings, and proactively sell new advertising opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and customise packages to meet client needs.
  • Consistently work towards and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and managers across the region.
  • Manage and update client contact details and listing renewal dates in our CRM system.
  • Collect and verify trade data to ensure consistency and accuracy across all web listings.
  • Process trade data promptly and accurately.
  • Handle straightforward information requests, escalating more complex queries as needed.
  • Maintain and update our trade database, ensuring compliance with GDPR and VEA’s privacy policy.
  • Collaborate with the Web, Comms, and Admin Executive and other team members to support various ad hoc tasks and trade data needs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing business and trade events, including the annual VEE conference.

Starting Date: November 2024, on a full time, permanent basis subject to a probationary period of 3 months.


Contract:The post holder would be required to work 37.5 hours per week.


Pay: Realistic OTE of £23,000 - £27,000 in the first year, with an uncapped commission structure.


Location: Hybrid working arrangement with the post holder expected to work three days out of five from an office based in Norwich. A laptop and phone will be provided.


Holiday Entitlement: 20 working days plus 8 Bank and Public Holidays, and 2 additional Company Holiday days (pro rata).

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Five GCSEs at Grades A-C (including Mathematics and English), or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience of working effectively in a team
  • Experience of prioritising tasks to achieve objectives
  • Experience of working in a sales role
  • Experience of working in a B2B role
  • Experience of working within the tourism sector
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with different people’s needs
  • Good communication skills in English Language – including ability to produce grammatically accurate emails
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and with consumers/customers
