Contracts Lawyer

We are currently working in partnership with a local authority who are looking for a permanent Contracts Lawyer to join their busy team.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and they are looking for someone to attend office a minimum of once per week in Oxford. The salary on offer ranges from £41,496 - £52,658 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Contracts & Procurement Law, and will have specific experience within a Local Government setting.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Handling a range of complex contracts and agreements on behalf of the Council, ensuring sound legal advice is provided on significant projects
• Advising on procurement matters, commercial contracts and subsidy control, and drafting high value contracts
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and policies, whilst providing advice on public procurement regulations and tendering processes
• Liaising with internal stakeholders and third-party clients in respect of contractual obligations
• Negotiating and drafting all types of commercial legal agreements including possible procurement and high-level, complex contact matters

Experience required:

• Contracts & Procurement Law
• Local Authority experience

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm
