JOB TITLE: IT Risk and Security Placement

LOCATION: Milton Keynes (hybrid 1-3 days in the office required per week)

SALARY: £22,250, 27 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, loan car scheme, pension and a discretionary bonus

CONTRACT: June 2025 - June 2026

We are looking for two IT Risk and Security Undergraduates to join our team and embark on an exciting journey where you'll develop invaluable IT risk and security experience. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of enterprise-wide security and governance capabilities, enabling us to adapt to evolving internal and external threat scenarios while supporting IT and Organisational objectives.

IT Risk and Security - Security

This is what your time at Volkswagen Financial Services might look like:

• Generating reports for monitoring and analysis
• Monitor and respond to mailbox enquires
• Dealing with System alerts
• Support Cyber Security team continuously improving security position
• Escalating & management of instances that occur

IT Risk and Security - Risk

This is what your time at Volkswagen Financial Services might look like:

• Support IT risk function with managing IT risk
• Work closely with IT supplier management team to monitor and collate risks relating to outsourced VWFS UK partners and 3rd parties
• Plan, develop and conduct training for employees in risk management processes

Both roles will:

• Support the ongoing monitoring and analysis of IT Vulnerabilities, Risks, ensuring risks relating to the use, ownership, operation and adoption of IT remain within tolerances and on-plan
• Develop, manage and support IT Security and Risk monitoring & reporting activities to ensure transparency and enable effective managerial decision making
• Support the co-ordination of IT Security and Risk assessments to identify deficiencies across the Organisation
• Work with multiple IT managers to develop and embed analytics
• Responsible for planning and co-ordinating regulatory driven processes and associated remediation activities to ensure mitigating activities are delivered successfully
• Plan, develop and conduct regular training for employees in risk management, both in policy & processes

About you:

• Currently studying a degree in IT, Computing, or a related field.
• Exceptionally high-level attention to detail, with a methodical and structured approach
• Able to remain calm, organised and pragmatic when faced with multiple priorities
• Be able to take ownership of problems and issues to proactively resolve them
• Ability to research and pull information together to support projects and other initiatives
• Be able to communicate clearly with the business both verbally and in writing
• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and Word

Here's what our process looks like:

• Apply and upload your CV, covering letter and answer a few application questions.
• You'll then be invited to complete a Situational Judgement Test. This is a short multiple-choice question set to understand how you may approach situations.
• If you pass this stage, you will be invited to complete an online video interview where you will have the opportunity to tell us more about yourself.
• If successful, your final step in the journey is to attend an assessment centre at our Milton Keynes office where you will take part in a group exercise, complete a short interview and deliver a presentation. You'll also meet some of our managers and our current Undergraduates to find out more about a placement year with us.
