Stokes Tea and Coffee are searching for an enthusiastic, driven Chef who understands the importance and joy of creating fresh, quality and delicious food. Stokes Tea & Coffee has over 120 years of passion and know-how in sourcing, roasting and blending its tea and coffee, supplying businesses locally and across the UK with exceptional quality. We operate five destination cafés across Lincolnshire. Each café offers a unique ambience, fresh, quality produce and of course the best coffee, which we roast on site, at The Lawn Café. Alongside this, our sister companies, The Blue Room and Charlotte House Hotel, offer beautiful event spaces to suit every visitor and occasion, so there are plenty of career opportunities to explore.

What Youll Be Doing

As a Stokes Chef, you will be part of a friendly, organised team, well-know for producing quality, locally sourced, seasonal food and superb service. This is an amazing opportunity to not only showcase your talents, but to develop these skills and grow within our ambitious and expanding business. You will be fully accustomed to busy service and jumping into any section, as well as following specs to ensure Stokes family recipes are delivered just like great, great grandma made. You will need your instinctive understanding of food to deliver seasonal specials, as well as meet our high standards to consistently produce delicious dishes for our wonderful guests.

All of our cafes open 7 days a week, with both the Lawn and Newark Café opening late two nights a week. Some evening work, therefore, will be required and weekend working is essential. We have opportunities at both locations.

What We Are Looking For

You will be a focused team-player who loves cooking, likely to have significant cooking ability and experience, working with fresh ingredients but looking for a better, work-life balance and a supportive environment. Your work ethic is exemplary, with your instinct to be organised and prepared. You consistently deliver precise, delicious dishes delivered with care and enjoy sharing your skills and knowledge. You rigorously follow food health and hygiene routines to maintain an orderly kitchen, ready for any demands of service.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of working as a chef with fresh ingredients
  • Team player with outstanding work ethic
  • Ability to work calmly, confidently and effectively in a high-pressured, fast-paced environment
  • Naturally organised and shares knowledge and skills.
  • Flexibility required across the week with regular weekend working and some limited evening shifts
  • To apply you must be able to work in the UK
