An established specialist, subcontract manufacturer of precision machined components to various industry sectors, certified to AS9100and ISO9001 standards with capabilities in CNC Milling, CNC Turning, EDM and Subcontract Inspection are experiencing considerable growth and expansion.

Job Profile
Due to this growth, expansion, and re-investment into the most modern, state of the art CNC Machine Tools and equipment, there are now requirements for experienced CNC Machinists for their Milling department.
As the successful CNC Miller, you will be self-motivated, have a high attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly to members of the team, able to set and operate 5 axis CNC Milling machining centres during the Night Shift.

Duties:
The day-to-day role will be ensuring mills have minimal downtime and working efficiently to produce high precision components to drawing specifications. Also, keeping the machine tools in a clean operational condition.

This will include the following:
  • Working from tooling information given by programmer.
  • Setting Tools.
  • Defining machine datums.
  • Prove out new jobs.
  • Editing machine offsets.
  • Carrying out first off inspection checks.
  • Maintaining machining tolerances.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Collaborating with inspectors to ensure drawings tolerances are met.
  • Self-management of workload to work efficiently.
  • Working to 5S.

Skills & Experience:
  • Experience Operating CNC 3axis Mills
  • Operating CNC 5 Axis Millswould be an advantage but not essential.
  • Good understanding of setting & operating CNC Mills.
  • Ideally experience using Heidenhain controls and DMG Machines.
  • Background producing CNC machined components for motorsport, aerospace or similar industries requiring high standards.
  • Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Carrying out first off inspection checks.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Good time keeping.

Hours of Work:
  • 48hrs per week.
  • 5pm to 5am, Monday to Thursday.
  • Overtime is available and regular, 5pm to midnight on Friday, paid at x1.5hrs.
