Bam Ritchies require an Instrumentation & Monitoring Engineer to join their team in our Godstone, Surrey office.

Your mission

The Instrumentation & Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide specialist technical support to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the project to time, budget and quality
  • Assisting with the planning and procurement of instruments / sensors
  • Installation of geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring of readings
  • Health & Safety Risk Assessment and Planning
  • Provide support regarding the design of I&M systems
  • Precise and timely management of data, data processing and reporting.
  • Oversee monitoring equipment hiring/off-hiring, maintenance, servicing and repairs.
  • Installation and operation, maintenance and calibration in compliance with Specification in timely matter, ensuring no delays to construction programme.
  • Assist on analysis and interpretation of monitoring data for risk management during construction and validation of design assumptions
  • Ensuring that baseline readings are undertaken in advance of construction activity, at the frequency specified in Designers and Contractors Monitoring Plans
Who are we looking for?

Required:

  • Degree qualified in geotechnical / geological engineering or similar discipline
  • IT systems awareness to be able to operate I&M specific softwares, SharePoint and all bespoke reporting applications
  • Full driving licence valid in the UK

???????Desirable:

  • One to three years experience of construction of comparable schemes
  • Familiarity of relevant I&M specifications and standards / codes of practice
  • Some degree of practical experience and theoretical knowledge of instrumentation installations and processes
  • Able to assist in the planning of any project activity and identify engineering and quality risks.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of appropriate documentation
  • Ability to identify ambiguities in the I&M specifications information would be an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret specification, data and drawings correctly and check for error.
  • Contribute to ensure policies, processes and procedures support in the delivery of compliance.
  • Ability to understand drawings and communicate to site personnel and workforce.
  • Awareness of construction site health and safety.
