Job Description

We're looking for Quantity Surveyor to join our Transportation team based in Glastonbury. This is for our highly esteemed maintenance works contract supporting Somerset County Councils road network. Location: Glastonbury, Somerset


Contract: Permanent, Full time



What will you be responsible for?


As Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in managing and optimising contract costs from inception to completion, creating value for money but also maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.


Your day to day will include:



  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans

  • Managing procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation, monitoring and controlling project finances, managing variations and preparing detailed financial reports

  • Conducting risk, value management, and cost control exercises

  • Negotiating and managing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, meeting compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards



What are we looking for?


This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:



  • You have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor and hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Possess knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations, can demonstrate a proven track record in cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting

  • Bring excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, along with being detail orientated with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
