Plant Chief Mechanic

Danny Sullivan's are looking for a full-time Plant Chief Mechanic to join a prestigious site in Birmingham.
This role involves managing the planning, monitoring, and execution of preventative maintenance (PPM) and running repairs for specialist mechanical and electrical equipment used in precast yards and viaduct plants.

Job description / profile :

• Applies of RAMS for the installation and operation of specialist mechanical / electrical precast yards and Viaduct plant.
• Records relating to PPM on plant, planning and supervision of PPM.
• Planning and monitoring of PPM, improvements and running repairs to plant.
• Ensures that enough resources are allocated to his scope of work and that each has an appropriate level of ability
• Identifies and arranges training as required
• Monitors and ensures that the works are carried out in compliance with the expectations of the working sites.
• Shares with operation and maintenance the planning a weekly frequency meeting.
• Takes into consideration operation requests maintenance constraints in the schedule.
• Maintains enough stock of small tools, lose lifting tackles and consumables on site.
• Develops and drives continuous improvement of resource through performance management and continuous training;
• Establishes and maintain key supplier relationships for spare parts, on-site technical services, consumables and other related services throughout the works period;
• Monitors and manages the budget of its activity
• Sets targets and KPIs in line with budget forecast
• Involved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects and preferred attendances
• Identifies any claiming situation and reports it with the necessary supporting information
• Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and encourages others to work safely through training, briefings and by his self-exemplarity
• Be familiar with the requirements defined in the Safety and Health at Work

Experience / Qualifications

• Previous experience in precast factory plant.
• Mechanical plant qualification.
