Job Description

The Regional Sites Support Manager is responsible for supporting all of the Scotland Nuttall regional site and office staff, providing insight into any barriers preventing implementation of new initiatives and making recommendations for improvement to the senior site management team.

This role ensures that the engineering and office team meets customer needs, resolves technical issues efficiently, and maintains high levels of service quality. The manager also collaborates with other departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure that the technical support provided aligns with the companys strategic objectives. The role requires a good communicator who can identify solutions to problems and bring people on board by positively influencing them so best practice is shared throughout the division and beyond.

Your mission

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of regional support staff and engineers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to employees and their managers to support professional growth.
  • Identify ongoing training and development to keep site staff up-to-date with the latest technologies and practices.
  • Oversee the resolution of any technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions to sites.
  • Improve consistency and compliance with procedures and processes by helping identify shortfalls within our project delivery, supporting the teams in remedying shortfalls, and providing the necessary support to reduce repetition.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to sites and act as an escalation point for particularly challenging issues.
  • Supporting quality management ethos, principles and concepts focusing on continual improvement and Lean thinking throughout the company and our supply chain
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Site Agents and Project Managers in the region, understanding their specific needs and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
  • Establish a process for gathering feedback and using it to improve service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve support processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on improvement areas and capture the impact this role is having on site engagement and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the operations managers, Site agents and project managers to ensure a coordinated approach to technical support.
  • Increase awareness and promote goals of the sustainability strategy internally and with the supply chain.
  • Act as a key point of communication between the regional sites and the broader organisation, ensuring that technical updates and changes are communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the Environmental lead with the aim of increasing BAMSI score to a minimum B grade
  • Ensure that all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate these risks
  • Plan and allocate your time effectively to support ongoing projects while maintaining day-to-day support operations.

Who are we looking for?

Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate Site and operational teams of engineers to achieve high performance.
  • Ability to analyse performance data, identify trends, and implement effective improvements.

Desirable:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field. A masters degree or additional technical certifications would be an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support, engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience managing a regional or geographically dispersed team is highly desirable.
