Job Description

Waste Management (Packaged Hazardous, Liquid/ Tanker, TWM) Business Development Managers required in South East England, the East Midlands, and Nationwide.


Business Development Manager (Packaged, Liquid, TWM)

Salary: £40,000 to £55,000, plus bonus, car allowance, etc


SRG are working with a leading waste management and recycling company who have a long and successful history of supporting the UK chemical industry. They are now looking for driven and dynamic professionals looking to make a significant impact in the hazardous waste industry. They are looking for dynamic BDMs with a passion for driving new business.


Responsibilities include (Liquid and Packaged):

  • Identify and implement sizeable new hazardous waste accounts, achieving annual sales revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with depot and sales management teams to target new business in the correct industry sectors and geographies.
  • Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects that fit the business strategy.
  • Ensure all development activity is tracked and recorded in business CRM tools.
  • Work collaboratively with other business units and group sales functions to develop strategic growth plans.
  • Adhere to new business governance policies around tendering and pricing sign-off.
  • Represent the business unit positively to all stakeholders.
  • Respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.


Responsibilities include (TWM):

  • Identify target sectors and prospective customers in line with our business growth strategy.
  • Implement creative marketing strategies to drive client engagement across the sales life cycle.
  • Lead and coordinate new business tendering opportunities, working with commercial finance, operations, and the bid team to present winning bids.
  • Proactively sell new business to achieve and exceed quarterly targets.
  • Contribute to the development of our wider strategic growth plans by introducing all services offered by Specialist Services.
  • Report all client engagement activities within our CRM tools, contributing to a strong customer data and business intelligence function.
  • Manage and maintain a strong sales pipeline, accurately presenting new business opportunities and risks to wider business stakeholders.
  • Sales forecasting to enable business planning activity, applying experience and judgment to existing sales prospects.


Requirements:

  • Strong experience in developing and managing new business services in a waste environment
  • Strong presentation, selling, negotiating, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise on a long-term horizon, balancing short term bid needs and the maintenance of long term sales prospects
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Business Degree is desirable
  • Numeracy and ability to understand numerical data
  • Bid writing competency, including the ability to respond to tendering documentation
  • Successful sales and marketing techniques
  • Flexibility including the ability to travel, including occasional nights away from home
  • Well-presented and enthusiastic
  • Full current car driving licence
