Bookkeeper

Location: Alerberton, South Africa Salary: ZAR 30,000 to ZAR 38,000 per month (depending on experience) Company: Property Management and Construction Company We are a dynamic and growing property management and construction company seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the company's day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Maintain financial records, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized. Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Perform monthly bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations. Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, PAYE, and other tax-related duties. Work closely with external auditors and manage the SARS audit process. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters. Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency in bookkeeping up to trial balance. Experience handling SARS audits and managing tax compliance. Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks). Strong understanding of South African tax laws and compliance. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
