Application Development Senior Manager ROLE SUMMARY: Provides guidance and leadership on software engineering and system architecture of the Care Solutions Delivery teams. This individual will be working on several of the largest Technology initiatives for Evernorth targeted at revolutionizing Health Services and Healthcare Delivery system in the United States.The focus of the work is to continue to enhance Evernorths market winning capabilities in the Home Based Care (HBC) Engineering as part of Care Delivery Solutions. The Technology strategy is completely aligned to our business strategy and the candidate will not only be able to influence technology/business direction but also recruiting and mentoring employees to ultimately build and contribute within a world class Delivery Vertical. This is a hands-on position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth management who are driven to see our efforts succeed. About HBC Org: The current HBC Engineering focuses on enabling the product capabilities for HBC business. These include the conceptualization, architecture, design, development and support functions for the Home Based Care Business Products. The strategic roadmap for HBC focuses on patient activation and routine care for various LOBs of Home Based Care. Following are the different capabilities of HBC Engineering Organization. Patient Activation Capabilities and Integrations with native EMRs Development of Non-Clinical Apps Data integrations for Home-based Care Engineering business Data Interoperability Shared Services Capabilities RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and management of teams responsible for software development and the introduction of new technologies at offshore. Partner with the business units, customers and stakeholders. Experience leading development using modern software engineering and product development tools including Agile/SAFE, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, etc. Demonstrate leadership in the context of software engineering and be an evangelist for engineering best practices. Stay abreast of leading-edge technologies in the industry. Evaluate emerging software technologies. Work collaboratively with all business areas to assess unmet/new business needs and solutions. Encourage the growth of direct and indirect reports through skills development, objectives, and goal settings. Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental goals. Mentor staff, measure staff performance and complete regular performance reviews and ranking. QUALIFICATIONS: 12 15 years technology experience, with direct experience designing and implementing high volume multi-tier transactional systems, including: web, mobile, large-scale database, workflow, and service oriented and cloud-based architectures. College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience. Proven experience leading/managing technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team. Experience with vendor management in an onshore/offshore model. Familiarity with most of the following technologies Kafka, AWS (serverless related services), python, data bricks, java, Debezium, MS SQL Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership. Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example. Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Strong influencing/negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills. Strong time and project management skills. Proven ability to resolve difficult and politically spirited issues and mitigate risks that have the potential of undermining the delivery of critical initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in building high performing teams including the hiring and developing of great people. Proven and accomplished individual with excellent leadership and strategic management skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College degree (MBA). Exposure to AWS. Strong analytical skills to challenge design recommendations. Strong understanding of best practices related to interface and interoperability. Strong understanding of SDLC in an Agile environment.
