If you have the drive to work in a flexible, fun, passionate Technology and Data team we would love to hear from you Purpose of the Job: As part of Brits technology team, you will participate in the innovation and delivery of technology and software solutions that support Brits business objectives. As a software engineer, you will be working with other engineers, tech leads, product owners, scrum masters and very driven Agile teams to identify, build and improve tools, systems and platforms that enhance Brits ability to create solutions and services for our customers. This role will translate business needs and functional designs into functioning software or technology designs and deliver/develop common foundation architecture components that conform to known successful patterns, and that support evolution toward the future-state architecture. You will be part of an engineering team that will participate in professional and comprehensive support and build, with the flexibility to build or maintain the specified solution or initiative dependent upon the departmental requirements. Principal Accountabilities: Working as an integral member of the Software Development Team, developing, and maintaining insurance-based products Building and maintaining pricing models that help increase value to the business Engage in the full process of service development from concept and design to development, testing and deployment, support and maintenance, within an agile environment Collaborate with internal teams to improve products Document technical design and analysis work Develop and Support applications in Azure - may require being on call to provide support during critical periods Regulatory Conduct Rules: Act with integrity. Act with due skill, care and diligence. Be open and co-operative with Lloyds, the FCA, the PRA, and other regulators. Pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly. Observe proper standards of market conduct. Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Required Skills & Knowledge: Experience with Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, Bottle, FastAPI ) Experienced in Python and building customer-facing applications Working experience on greenfield projects and a chance to bootstrap their technology stack Implement solutions based upon OO, DRY and SOLID principles Integrating with RESTful APIs Should demonstrate the ability to grasp project requirements and other concepts quickly Possess good communication skills and be proactive in their approach Required Skills & Knowledge: Experience with Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, Bottle, FastAPI ) Experienced in Python and building customer-facing applications Working experience on greenfield projects and a chance to bootstrap their technology stack Implement solutions based upon OO, DRY and SOLID principles Integrating with RESTful APIs Should demonstrate the ability to grasp project requirements and other concepts quickly Possess good communication skills and be proactive in their approach Required Tool sets: Python 3 FastAPI SQL SQL Alchemy Jinja2 Desirable Skills and Knowledge: Python, Flask, Django, PyTorch, Scikit, Pandas, Numpy TDD, Test Automation Proficient with git and git workflows combined with a strong hands-on experience building CI/CD workflows Azure PaaS services (App Services, Function Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Storage, Key Vaults, Azure SQL, Azure CosmosDb, Azure AD). Experienced in an Agile delivery environment Understanding of design documentation, UML, Entity Relationship Diagramming etc. React Gradio Terraform Total Years of Experience: 2 - 4 years with at least 2 years of work experience in Python and Fast API and SQL. Non - Technical: Good interpersonal skills with a key ability to work with an Agile team Good analytical and technical skills Ability to think out of the box and deliver on the agreed solutions to business problems Strong interest in latest technology trends
