Key Responsibilities Overall Leadership In partnership with the US-based team, execute the components of the enterprise data strategy in India, aligned to the broader enterprise outcomes. Act as a thought leader to influence the Data and AI adoption and enablement plans, establish an outcome-based work culture, demonstrate and lead by example to foster a one awesome global Data and AI adoption and enablement team mindset, advance planning routines to align work plans in partnership with the US-based team, while engaging and inspiring the team. Be the primary leader for the Data and AI adoption and enablement team while collaborating with external partners in India. Be an integral leader in advancing the broader Best Buy India GCC culture and community. Engineering and Architecture Oversee and govern the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, data architecture, and cloud infrastructure. Accelerate modernization of legacy data platforms to the cloud. Advance data management practices, including data governance, security, and compliance. Oversee and operationalize end-to-end data lifecycle and AI activation services. Stay informed about emerging trends in Data and AI by maintaining strategic partnerships with external technology providers and research institutions. Talent Management and Hiring Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in data engineering, data science, and AI. Foster a team culture of continuous improvement, co-creation, curiosity, collaboration, and communication Provide mentorship, coaching, develop training plans, and advance internal talent mobility goals. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. Delivery and Operations Oversee successful delivery of data and AI enablement outcomes. Co-create solutions with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data and AI solutions effectively and efficiently. Manage India-based partner relationships related to data and AI services. Oversee development, deployment, and operations of data assets, including base assets, semantic assets, semantic layers, visualizations, reports, and AI features. Oversee development, deployment, and operations of AI models. Align data stewards and visualization designers to business and experience data domain groups. Basic Requirements 15 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience. Including: 15 years of experience at a fast-paced consumer products, or technology company with experience in web, software, product delivery 10 years of experience directly managing teams and providing work direction 12 years of experience managing partners and vendors 10 years of experience architecting multi-cloud digital, data and AI systems Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services including Dataflow, BigQuery, Looker Proven experience in leading legacy data modernization initiatives, DataOps and AIOps practices Proven experience in establishing and leading a similar Data and AI COE at a GCC Proven ability to work rapid development cycles with larger teams to achieve a common goal Preferred Requirements Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment Experience with Site Reliability Engineering practices Certification in Google Cloud Platform services Substantial experience in data governance, data privacy and compliance Understanding of responsible AI standards About Best Buy BBY India is a service provider to Best Buy and as part of the team that will work on Best Buy projects and initiatives, youll help us fulfill Best Buys purpose to enrich lives through technology.
