Cloud Engineering Lead Analyst ROLE SUMMARY: We are looking for a talented API Developer to join our Home Based Care (HBC) Engineering team as part of Care Delivery Solutions. As an API/Micro Services Developer, the candidate will work with a highly agile team of developers to develop, execute, validate, and maintain Home Based Care eco system. The candidate needs to be creative, responsive, flexible, and willing to participate in an open collaborative peer environment and guide the team as necessary. The candidate enjoys working in a team of high performers, who hold each other accountable to perform to their very best and does not shy away from opportunities to provide and take feedback with team members. The candidate works towards delivering a Minimal Viable Product with proper testing, avoids scope creep, and follows Software Engineering best practices as defined by Evernorth. The candidate is expected to actively participate in all ceremonies like Daily Stand-ups, Story grooming, review user stories & sprint retrospectives. About HBC Org: The current HBC Engineering focuses on enabling the product capabilities for HBC business. These include the conceptualization, architecture, design, development and support functions for the Home Based Care Business Products. The strategic roadmap for HBC focuses on patient activation and routine care for various LOBs of Home Based Care. Following are the different capabilities of HBC Engineering Organization. Patient Activation Capabilities and Integrations with native EMRs Development of Non-Clinical Apps Data integrations for Home-based Care Engineering business Data Interoperability Shared Services Capabilities RESPONSIBILITIES: Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance. Experience with agile software development methodologies. Hand on experience with Java, Spring Boot , Postman, New Relic, Splunk, IntelliJ, JIRA, Jenkins, AWS, GIT , JUnit, Log4J, Maven , Microservices ; Containerization, Checkmarx, sonar, GitLab, orchestration (e.g., K8s) along with Cloud components specifically (AWS / EKS). Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code quality, security, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Strong knowledge of design patterns, data structures, test and behavior driven development. Strong communication skills ability to communicate to Product and Business teams. Complete accountability for the technology assets owned by the team. Proactive monitoring and management design of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity. Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets. Sizes User Stories based on time / difficulty to complete. Provides input on specific challenges facing User Stories. Breaks User Stories into tasks. Selects User Stories to be completed in the Iteration, based on User Story priority and team capacity and velocity. Discuss risks, dependencies, and assumptions. Participates in the confidence vote. Participate in the daily stand ups, refinement grooming and retrospective meetings. QUALIFICATIONS: BS or degree in related field or equivalent experience. 5-8 years of experience building enterprise backends and service-oriented solutions supporting large-scale backend distributed systems and web-based applications. Track record of designing for high scale and fault tolerance. Highly proficient at working with complex data sets. Proficient with current industry-leading development tools Knowledge of cloud-centric design patterns. Expertise on AWS technologies are required. Propensity for curiosity and critical thinking with an interest in large-scale distributed services. Strong problem-solving skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to be effective with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a scrum-based environment. Capable of adapting to changing requirements and business processes Experience developing applications for pharmacy or healthcare industries preferred. Oversee developers to help them write reusable, testable, and efficient code, including hosting regular technical huddles to conduct code reviews. Understand coding standards and ensure team is implementing them as code is being developed. Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example. Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Proactive participation in design sessions, Program Increments (PI) Planning and sprint refinement meetings Oversee developers to help them write reusable, testable, and efficient code, including hosting regular technical huddles to conduct code reviews. Understand coding standards and ensure team is implementing them as code is being developed. Ensure any defects are delegated to team members and triaged. Responsible for clean code deployment, issue resolution and first line contact for all technical discussions/issues for the team Coordinate with Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) and Cigna Information Protection (CIP) on application and design reviews to ensure successful Production deployments. Identify continuous improvement opportunities for the team (i.e. automation, removing consistent blockers) and track under team's Continuous Improvement features in upcoming PIs Identify technical debt items that team needs to resolve and track under team's Technical Debt features in upcoming Program Increments (PIs) Identify reusable framework opportunities and share with the Frameworks team or Cross-ART tech leads. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Exposure to serverless AWS / AWS Cloud Certification Agile / SAFe Certification
