About the role:

As the Business Systems Manager at Strathberry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and project managing the upgrade, integration and maintenance of our organization's systems and technology to support business operations.


Collaboration with all departments will be key in order to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that optimize efficiency and drive growth. Particular focus will be on working with the in-house Development team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership to effectively manage our business systems and ensure alignment with Strathberry’s ambitious objectives.


This role reports to the CFO, and key relationships will include Head of Development, Head of Sourcing and Supply Chain, Head of Finance and Head of Business Support, and additional external dev support.

Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Head Office in central Edinburgh. We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with a minimum of 3 fixed days required each week working from our office and the option to work the other days from home.


Responsibilities:

System Integration and Maintenance:

  • Learn and understand Strathberry’s operational IT architecture
  • Lead the integration and maintenance of business systems, including PLM, BI, Stock, CRM and other software applications.
  • Identify, suggest, and implement IT ERP operational solutions that help drive the business forward.
  • Liaise with internal functions to establish requirements, prioritise and then take ownership of delivery


Business Processes:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and optimisation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of departmental workflows and requirements to tailor system solutions that meet specific business needs.
  • Implement best practices and standards to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.


Project Management:

  • Manage end-to-end implementation projects for system upgrades, new software deployments, and process improvements.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.


User Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users on system functionalities, processes, and best practices.
  • Develop training materials, documentation, and resources to facilitate user adoption and proficiency.


Data Management and Governance:

  • Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Promote data to the forefront of decision-making.
  • Implement data management strategies to organize, store, and retrieve information effectively across different systems.
  • Monitor data usage, access controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).


Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select third-party vendors and technology partners based on business needs, capabilities, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and licensing agreements to drive optimal value and support for business systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships, performance, and escalations to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.


About you:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in business systems management, IT project management, or related roles.
  • Understand the operational flow across a high-end business which distributes online, retail and wholesale globally.
  • Strong technical expertise in PLM/ERP, Finance, CRM, BI, and other business systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, influence decision-making, and build consensus.
  • Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, drive change, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of data management principles, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and goal-oriented mindset.
