The Role

Do you possess a degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering, coupled with experience of implementing fire engineering solutions? Are you an expert in fire safety regulations with a talent for practical solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a passive fire protection specialist, looking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable Fire Safety Engineer to our growing team.

You will use your expertise to provide technical fire engineering advice on a range of buildings throughout the design, construction and occupancy phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifying fire-related risks and advising on how to reduce or eliminating them.

Producing fire strategy documents for new and existing buildings.

Producing fire safety management plans for new and existing buildings.

Advising on fire safety measures at design and construction stages.

Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building including the external wall systems.

Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs.

Providing technical advice on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans etc.

Liaising with local authorities and/or building control professionals as required.

Take a lead role in developing and growing our fire engineering capability.

Provide high quality technical fire consultancy to clients.

Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the relevant field.

Respond to requests for client work and proposals in a timely manner.

Working closely with our business development team developed positive client relationships.

The Person

• A degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering or equivalent.
• Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute for Fire Safety Managers.
• Significant experience of implementing fire engineering solutions in a range of settings.
• Excellent knowledge of the current and emerging fire safety legislation framework.
• Strong analytical and report writing ability.
• Ability to verbally communicate complex information simply and concisely.
• Positive approach to the challenges of change and see change as an opportunity not a threat.
• Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality.
