Position Overview

The Estates Procurement team at this university is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Procurement Manager. This role will lead the Estates Maintenance and Supplies categories, designing and delivering best-value contracts and continuous improvement solutions. The Procurement Manager will work closely with senior stakeholders in the Maintenance and Facilities team to provide strategic and agile procurement solutions. This position reports to the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain for Estates.

The Estates Procurement team operates under the Finance department, offering dedicated, comprehensive procurement support to the Estates Office. The goal is to create a world-class, safe, sustainable, and inspiring environment for staff and students, in line with the core values and objectives of the university.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Thrives in a complex organizational environment and builds effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Experienced in managing a defined portfolio of spend, developing category strategies to deliver best value and continuous improvement.
  • Understands market dynamics and cost drivers, and has experience with various sourcing activities, including RFQs, formal tenders, and sourcing competitions.
  • Skilled in negotiation and contract management to ensure full benefits realization and robust supplier management.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in delivering an efficient, responsive, and value-generating procurement service.
  • Able to work effectively within a framework of robust procurement, regulatory, and audit procedures.
