Job Description
Are you a finance professional with a local government background? Our client, a large unitary local authority, are seeking an Interim Closedown Accountant to establish new year-end processes and help with the closedown of their legacy accounts. This contract will last for a minimum of 6 months, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role offers a competitive daily rate and is primarily remote, with occasional office presence required in the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement year-end financial close processes.
- Review and manage previous accounts for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical finance expertise.
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports.
Key Requirements:
- Local government finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of year-end processes and public sector accounting.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
